With implementation of new government policies and changes in demographics, more people are moving to Taiwan for a short period of time, whether to work or to study.

The Garden of Hope Foundation (GOH) holds to the belief of serving others regardless of nationality.

In generation of highly values human rights, GOH-Migrants aspires to be the impetus for action, by connecting Taiwanese society with its migrant communities. We promote cross-cultural dialogue, in order to foster cultural diversity and inclusion.

Since 2009, the Garden of Hope Foundation has been entrusted by the Council of Labor Affairs (later restructured as Ministry of Labor) to provide the 1955 Counseling and Protection Hotline for foreign workers.

Since 2011, the Garden of Hope Foundation has opened several shelters for women migrant workers and their children in different circumstances, and has been providing interrogation escort services for victims of human trafficking. Our professional social workers have been trained to acknowledge a deep understanding of immigration regulations, civil and criminal laws, labor laws, and gender equality laws.  The Garden of Hope Foundation has been instilling multicultural values by introducing systematic cross-cultural approach and cross-professional collaboration to support foreign friends in Taiwan. Meanwhile improving the efficiency of cross-network communication and collaboration.

 

Since 2019, the Garden of Hope Foundation has noted the cultural diversity in the migrant community, we have been working to empower migrants — providing trainings and workshops to grow their professional skills, take care of mental health and well-being, broaden their visions, and open up their future possibilities. 

In 2020, “GOH-Migrants” was officially launched as the Garden of Hope Foundation’s migrant service center. The center extended the support service to foreign women, children, and international students. 

We strive to further the rights and interests of these communities, while providing them with resources suited for their specific needs. GOH-Migrants aspires to build a platform for short-term or long-term foreign residents in Taiwan, by integrating multi-national, multi-disciplinary professional services. 

GOH-Migrants is committed to becoming the bridge between Taiwan society and the migrant community, protecting the rights of foreign workers in Taiwan, as well as promoting social inclusion and cultural tolerance. Together, we are moving forward towards a society of diversity, human rights, and gender equality.
